The Coleman Entrepreneurship Center at DePaul University is an entrepreneur’s dream—a hub populated by some amazing students, professors, and business leaders that acts as an incubator for the growth and development of the groundbreaking businesses of tomorrow. It’s here where bright young minds get the opportunity to apply business lessons learned in lecture halls to real startups in a fast-paced environment. The Coleman Center’s Summer Internship program connects these ambitious students with local Chicago startups looking to provide young talent with a crash course on real-world entrepreneurship. But the benefits of this program go beyond the opportunities at a normal internship, as there is more to do than just work and learn.
The program offers so much more—along with a chance to grow, student participants also get the opportunity to connect with other like-minded innovators at the Coleman Center. The opportunity to connect can include future business owners and supporters, as well as professors and CEOs. This is perhaps the most beneficial opportunity that the Summer Internship program provides, as the right connection can lead to the opportunity of a lifetime.
As an entrepreneurial investor, I’m a long time supporter of DePaul, and an active new member of the Advisory Board of the Coleman Center. I’d like to take the opportunity to encourage all aspiring entrepreneurs, regardless of your experience or expertise, to consider reaching out to the Coleman Center. Doing so, you’ll see how you can participate in helping to grow, educate, and support the future business founders of the great city of Chicago and beyond.
