When you think of great tasting food, your mind most likely doesn’t leap to the healthiest of foods. It’s difficult not to, because even though the shelves of our supermarkets are fully stocked with healthy food options—they tend to pale in comparison to their undeniably unhealthy, but incredibly tasty counterparts. But why can’t our better health options taste better as well? Why does good health not come with a good flavor? But most importantly, is there something we can do to change this?
As a health industry expert, I firmly believed the answer to this question to be ‘yes’, and it was with the objective of making healthy food taste great in mind, that I founded Peak Ingredients. By providing investment resources, growth capital, and assistance to these innovative companies, I am doing everything I can to bring the better tasting healthy products directly to a hungry consumer. I’ve always been a strong advocate for healthy living, and believe that the first step toward living well is good health. This is why being a health management specialist, it has always been a goal of mine to help grow the food and beverage companies working on innovative nutrition to introduce new and healthier options for our supermarkets.
Consumers called for more healthy options, and companies are responding. But it’s interesting where the innovation is coming from. I learned early on, that the true innovation in the food and beverage sector was happening at the ingredient/formulation level. It was there the solutions that consumers and brand owners seek, are actively being developed. At Peak Ingredients, we’re looking to support those innovators who realize the importance of, and opportunity in, finding the new taste of good health with healthy ingredients.
