With over 25 years experience, Carol has developed a keen sense for opportunity in the form of an unmet consumer need. By identifying opportunities early, she has created a track record of profitable investments spanning multiple industries. In addition to an ability to spot an opportunity early, Carol also works to stay ahead of market trends, through continual analysis.
Throughout her career as an investor, Carol has worked with passionate entrepreneurs and business owners from many industries, offering a suite of resources along with her unique approach to growing a business. When she assumes the role of advisor, it’s because Carol believes in the company and its leaders, and wants to help them work through whatever is prohibiting further growth and profitability. For Carol, the reward lies in helping a company bring their vision to life, and seeing the impact their product or service has on the olives of its consumers.
Being a mentor is about helping individuals grow, and Carol takes pride in taking the time to share her expertise and experience to help mentor aspiring entrepreneurs. She understands from her own experience, that having a mentor can make a difference in the trajectory of a career, or even a life. As a result, Carol is an active mentor, who strives to give back to her respective alma maters DePaul University and the University of Chicago by supporting their entrepreneurship and incubator programs.
Throughout Carol’s career, she has made an effort to give back to the individuals, organizations, and communities that supported her through her formative years. As a result of their support Carol grew into someone who can help others.
“Lift while you climb”, her personal philosophy towards success and entrepreneurship, emphasizes the need we all have to be a part of something beyond ourselves and our personal lives. It touches upon our need in life, and business, to set goals and achieve them, but more importantly, it strengthens our desire to give back and provide support to the communities that supported us.
For Carol, this simple saying defines true success—and inspires her efforts to invest in people, and work with budding entrepreneurs and seasoned business owners.
